Restoration

The Venice Gardens Foundation in keeping with the terms of the concession agreement signed in 2014 with the State Property Office for the City of Venice, will be engaged in the restoration, conservation, upkeep and management of the Royal Gardens. It has entrusted planning of the botanical restoration to the garden architect Paolo Pejrone while architectural renovation, based on the Aymonino-Barbini project, has been planned by the architect Alberto Torsello.
After two years spent planning the restoration and obtaining the necessary authorizations to carry out the work, the Venice Gardens Foundation began work in April 2017. The Gardens are expected to reopen after July 2018.

In 2016 an agreement to collaborate in the restoration and promotion of the Royal Gardens was signed by the Foundation and Assicurazioni Generali.
